Booking TOurs and EVENTS
We do run tours throughout the year, usually on selected Sundays, as well a running a number of events open to all. Tours are a full top to bottom guided tour with a knowledgeable tour guide, and the opportunity to view selected collection items that are not normally on display. Tours usually last for at least one hour, with time to ask questions about the library, its occupants, books and secrets!
Group Visits 2026
We offer a number of options for groups to visit the library, and welcome enquiries throughout the year. Due to the fact that we are a working library at present we discuss requirements with each group. If you wish to discuss a group visit please contact Matt Dolman – Development Manager here
PHOTOGRAPHIC HISTORY VISITS
For groups with a special interest in photography we can arrange a tailored presentation with a focus on photographic techniques and our photographic history. Research Visits
Those of you with an interest in specific areas of our collection are welcome to book a research visit. We invite prospective researchers to look at our online catalogue. We do require as much advance notice as possible in order to ensure we have the space and availability to accommodate your request. Please contact the library here or call 01159 473134
As part of our charitable status, we do not charge for short research visits. For short research visits; however this is by arrangement and we can only accommodate a maximum of three visits per individual research strand, at the Library’s discretion. For longer use of the library we would advise taking out a membership. Research visits are at the discretion of the library and there may be times when we are unable to accommodate your request, particularly at short notice. Donations are appreciated to help us continue the work we do in looking after our special collections and archive.

We’re hidden in plain sight… an intriguing doorway on Angel Row – look for the doorway in between Barnardo’s Charity Shop and MSR Newsagents on Angel Row, just across from Nottingham’s Market Square. We’re close to several bus and tram stops.
