What’s On

If you're looking for literary events, author talks, book launches, history lectures, workshops and more, this is the place for you....

We offer a wide variety of events throughout the year.   As you might expect, many literary events take place with author talks and readings, book launches, in-conversation and events with literary partners.

Autumn 2026 is already shaping up to deliver a full and diverse programme, we have investigative journalist and bestselling author John Sweeney visiting in October to talk about his with his hotly anticipated book – The Real Nigel Farage, acclaimed biographer Miranda Seymour talking about her latest fascinating account of Vera Gedroits, a focus on Graham Greene and an exhibition that evolved by the artist working with a very personal collection held in the library – The Alan Sillitoe Collection.
As the nights draw in prepare to be chilled with a very atmospheric Ghost Story – read in the library…..
