With the scaffolding coming down a little every day, we thought we’d take a final glimpse of the finished roof, before it’s too late. Those of you who came on our roof tours will know the powerful feelings that an ‘impossible’ view inspires – the knowledge that so few people have stood in that particular spot and had that particular view is quite moving. It is odd, too, to think that the next people to stand here may well be repairing the roof in over 200 years time.
