We welcomed members of the Byron Society and leading academics for a morning of poetry, Simon Brown the curator at Newstead visited for a lecture and The Newstead Abbey Partnership performed ‘The Life and Death of Byron’ we even had a replica of the infamous skull cup on display.

Elin joined us on placement from Nottingham University, as part of her placement she helped us digitise several of our Byron collection items. Digitisation is a lengthy process and one that we wish to dedicate more time to, to make our collection widely available. These are our first tentative steps into this process and one we hope to refine as we gain skills in this area.
